About Me

Hi, thanks for stopping by!Lisa on the balcony of New Orleans hotel, wearing a long white skirt. I’m Lisa (she/her) from Toronto, Canada and I created notthatneutral to help women challenge their thinking in an artsy, creative way. The goal is inspire your personal style by connecting fashion to art, while introducing you to female authors (and other entrepreneurs) that have something valuable to teach us. Starting this blog to create a safe space for women to have open dialogue and support each other as we step outside of our comfort zones. I think growth comes from having uncomfortable conversations, with both yourself and others. From learning, re-learning and un-learning. That’s really our mantra in 2021: to get comfortable being uncomfortable. Join our journey to step away from apathy, or neutrality, and into a place of deeper understanding (with a few giggles along the way!)

Travel

To say I have the travel bug would be putting it mildly. By 25, I had been fortunate enough to visit 25 countries, and each one left a lasting impression. I haven’t been everywhere, but it’s on my list! (Susan Sontag)
Queens of Sass: Cats

Cats

They want things to be done on their own terms: pets, naps, adventures, food, playtime. They’re so independent and are likely sick of your shit. Cute, but will fight. I’m a cat.

Fashion

My only claim to fame when it comes to fashion (other than being voted “Best Dressed” in high school) was being featured on BlogTo’s Street Style. That was fun. I’m a big fan of vintage, thrifting and bold, funky prints.
